An odd little idea I had awhile ago about the Tyranid race from Warhammer 40k

Driven by the Hive mind the Tyranid race is very deadly but over time people have learned to target the synapse creatures that act as relays to the lesser creatures. If the lesser creatures lose their connection to the hive mind they become animalistic and worthless as soldiers. The Tyranid needed something that could restore synapse in the battle field so it created the Hive mind avatar...a small creature able to mutate its own DNA and give itself the benefits of bio morphs for which ever suited the need at the time and could act as synapse for the entire army...

Hive Mind Avatar is capable of gaining any two of the bio morphs available and may switch them out once per turn. Hive Mind Avatar gains a 2+ armor save and always has the regeneration ability.

Yes I know this is way over powered but hey its an excuse to draw Eve with a bunch of 'nids. Ten points if you can name each of the creatures with her.

I'm not going to lie... thats really awesome. Warhammer, so fun

I'd wager my Industrial Corps Imperial Guard or Sisters of Industry would be given a run for their money against that.

The Hive mind avatar is less built to be a tank and more designed to keep synapse going over longer distances then other 'nids and be able to take out the larger dangers to the hive. Smarter then most nids the avatar can pop out a set of wings, fly past the troops and go for the giant cannon hidden in the back or the leaders and commanders. Alot in the 'nid army can deal with basic troops but they have issues hitting specific targets with high threat levels.

Well with the right amount of application I'm sure a Baneblade coupled with some Leeman Russ tanks and Hellhounds backed by Kasrkin Infantry squads would dish out a fair amount of damage from the Guard. Were it the Sisters I suppose mix of the infantry coupled with the Repentia Engines and some Immolators would be a scary sight.

That is freaking awesome!!
I believe it is a Lictor, Carmifex, Hormagaunt, your character, Hormagaunt angain, and I would say the last one is a Warrior as it's too small to be a Hive tyrant.

*The wheel may be turning but the Hamster IS dead*
bingo! I'm a little emberessed to admit I don't actually have a tyrant in my army (I really should get one though) and the warriors and tyrant both have similar looks
